PostSubject: First Films Sold on USB   Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:44 pm

The first films are now being launched on USB memory stick. The very first one is Ghostbusters, a twenty five year old film on a 5 quid USB stick will set you back 30 quid!!!!

The new way of buying films is restricted by DRM for those who fancy ripping it lots of times, with the catch being that should you be silly enough to spend 30 quid on it, even if you copy the film to your hard drive you still need the USB stick in your pc to watch it.
Quote:
‘so customers can download the movie onto their laptop or PC if they wish, but they have to have the USB drive plugged in to watch the movie, as the DRM is locked in the USB drive.’

Apparently the 2gb stick is capable of holding 12 hours of video playback, 33 hours of music and 1080 pictures, though PNY dont seem to want to tell everyone what kind of file type the film will be.

And here is where you can invest your thirty shiny English Pounds into this (doomed i reckon) venture http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001151&langId=-1&searchTerms=ghostbuster

And the best selling point i have seen so far
