PostSubject: Free GFX Card Update?   Tue 25 Nov 2008, 21:19

Anyone who owns certain models of BFG Graphics cards with an AGP interface could soon be looking at a free PCI Express upgrade. Its available in the US and Canada and hopefully soon in the UK too Smile Good news for those that own one!

Owners of BFG AGP GeForce 6800, 7600 and 7800 cards can get a free upgrade to a PCI-E GeForce 9-series card in the US, and hopefully in the UK soon
BFG GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP

Suffering a cruel fate after the quick introduction of PCI-E motherboards, we never really got to see the true potential of the age-old AGP interface. While you can still get Radeon HD 3850 cards based on the ancient graphics port, it’s fair to say that AGP will shortly be joining the ISA slot in motherboard heaven. However, in order to ease the upgrade process for owners of AGP cards, BFG is kindly offering a free PCI-E graphics card to owners of its AGP cards.

The link to get a free upgrade is here .. http://www.bfgtech.com/freeupgrade.aspx

Hopefully it we be open to UK customers soon, though i would apply now and at least you are registered on the system if and when it does become available.

There are different upgrades available and you can add to the cost to further improve your card. They are listed here .. http://www.custompc.co.uk/news/605247/bfg-offering-free-pci-e-upgrades-for-agp-cards.html#
