| Use the tutorials to make a few chess pieces, you learn a lot. Then make something simple like a box., honestly mate, it is similar to ComBAT, you need to just play with it _________________

| The pawn and the knight are the best ones. Then having just been in the same boat as you i would get ambitious, you will learn tons from overkill, that gimpy i did was 35,000 polys when it should have been 3.5k, i learnt a lot and the carbine is now on 3800 polys and its almost done _________________

| I think i have gone as far as i can go on my carbine model now, here it is completed, yeah i know the pistol grip looks weird among other things but i think i nearly got it right.

My next mission is to try and UV map it, whatever that is, then make it the right colour, skin it, however you do that _________________

| Right, apparently UV Mapping is breaking it down into its component parts, like this ......

Then its making a skin for it, obviously mine is very rough to try and get the mechanics, so i just coloured it green and black.......

Then you stick it all back together and it looks like how you coloured it in......

Yes..... i know it looks poo but i am still trying to suss this out. I set about making a skin-thing for it as a complete photoshop novice and heres where i am at now.....

When i have cracked it i will let you know _________________
