| Gents For the life in me I cannot get PR to run on my Vista Laptop as per the link.
http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?GCLID=CNfO7ZH-z5ACFQIQFQoddxbjXQ&PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=226530
I have tried many things to get it working, the screen refresh rate is stuck at 59htz, but when I connect another LCD panel it jumps up to 60. And once I managed to play it but on another attched monitor.
I would be grateful for you IT boffins to shed some light on it, I have tried all the forums on the web and it appears to either be Vista or the locked screen resolution...
I am sad cause I have just lost my Dell to the young lad, i.e a Xmas promise ..
By the way impressive rigs on the other post, im jealous as hell
Regards
scutter
P.S: Need some information on how to get my signatures back on, sorry i am not up to speed in this area yet.... |

| In My Computer, right click and check to see what its default compatability mode is. If you uncheck it so it says Win 95 (greyed out) that might sort it.
Godd luck. |

| What gfx is the laptop running? Shared ATi/Nvidia, dedicated ATi/Nvidia or is it Intel inegrated (eeewwww)?
Reason being, that Riva Tuner (a 3rd party graphics overclocker app) can 'OC' a monitor. 1Hz will not make a difference.
Or you could manually edit your profile in My Documents with wordpad to set Dirty Stinking Vanilla to res x res @ 59Mhz?
edit: It's an NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT 3D Graphic Card with 512MB VRAM, isn't it? If it's Vista, make sure you run Dirty Stinking Vanilla and PR in Windows XP SP2 compatability mode, by right-clicking the .exe and setting it, and running as administrator.
edit2: interesting word filter there Strima _________________

| Have you tried www.ebay.co.uk i got Q6600 for £96 inc postage
www.amazon.co.uk for the RAM Corsair XM2 DDR2 800MHz/PC2 6400 £37.84 inc next day delivery
mobo recomend nForce 680i as nVidia GFX cards are the best get an 8800GT about £90-£100 now
also try www.microdirect.co.uk
Do shop about I used MS Xcell to store compared prices in a table
if u just want a prebuilt rig I have seen some nice stuff on www.tresco.com a perticular PC http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.901-2287.aspx I know it a radion but its the best ATI card out there and a Q6600
also WORD UP soldiers....unless your running Vista 64 bit or XP 64 bit you will NEVER be able to use more than 3Gb of RAM.
So if you are running vista 32 bit or XP 32 bit then dotn bother to buy more than 3Gb of RAM or you wasting your money.
to get 64bit working u need 64 bit drivers for your ALL your PC's components and either Vista 64bit or XP 64bit ( I wouldn't bother thought just yet)
as not all software is compatible or u need to DL the 64 bit patches for them. _________________ If it ain't broke don't fix it....
