Just had an email from BT, looks like all the lines in my area are being upgraded to 20Mb. This will happen Thursday so with any luck I will be able to get at least 4Mb download speed soon!!!

TBH I can't wait and see how much of a gain I will actually get on my line. At the minute:

You either did that speedtest at a really busy time at night or you're on a slow internet package. You will see an improvement but BTs backbone cabling is on a 'Smelly Bottom Goo' contention meaning yes you will see an improvement but never see the full wack of what other 20mb packages could get from other ISPs.

Chud who is your ISP? If its a certain % under what you are paying for you can get a refund on a period of time that it has been bad for as long as its been problematic for a minimum of 36hrs.

ISP is IDnet, they are normally very good, and the package I have is a bit of a deal that I got from them a few years back. Its been like this since last night so the y will get a phone call tomorrow Smile
