This was covered by a lot of the tabloids over the weekend.

Although I don't like the gutter press they do make a very strong point even down to the fact of police escorts not being utilised to cover the full journey from Lyneham to Oxfordshire when the dead are repatriated!!!

We are mate . had a massive do here and boy was it fun. recited a few English poems and sang loads of songs.

I remember when I was doing my phase1b training our sergeant made us watch a video like this and at the end it said "and birmingham city hospital ask soldiers to remove military clothing before entering" its a bit stupid now.

I get stuff like this all the time. When I am on the road recruiting I often have to put up with "baby killers" and "Hospital bombers" I have even had old an boy come up to me and say he is ashamed of what the forces stand for these days (unlike when he was in the mob).

Now, I probably like most of you guys have had good friends and colleagues K.I.A. and have to put up with shite like that from our own people is not only sad but it makes me wonder why we bother at times. It is indeed a sad state of affairs.Makes me extremely angry.

Now I am a huge Ice Hockey fan and as such I watch a lot of NHL (US and Canadien) hockey. They not only play the national anthem before EVERY game and EVERYONE shows respect to it, they often have members of the forces at the games as guests and show them off to their public and they show their appreciation. Its fantastic to see, I just can't see our country do that some how.

Well I care! I'm going to join the forces and i have the same problem with the respect. I do cadets and whenever i walk home there is people taking the piss out of me cos they hinnk i look stupid. Lol i even beat up my mates if they dis on the army.
